The Schools Outreach Programme is one of the most popular elements of The Gathering Festival. Every year a group of musicians visit a selection of national schools in the Killarney area over four days. Past visits have included trips to Gaelscoil Faithleann, Loreto, Lissivigeen, Loughguittane, Ballycasheen, The Mercy, The Monastery, Kilcummin, Tiernaboul, Two Mile, Fossa, Firies and Anablatha. The students and teachers are treated to a feast of toe tapping tunes by local musicians and dancers which provide them with a unique insight into their culture and heritage in a fun and interactive way.

Due to the great success of previous years, The Gathering will visit local primary schools with a group of musicians and dancers promoting the local Sliabh Luachra Tradition. This is made possible with the kind assistance of the Arts Council, Kerry County Council and Killarney Credit Union.
