SUPER CÉILÍ BIG BAND
Super Céilí Big Band is an energetic and unique Irish musical project from County Kerry that blends traditional céilí music with modern pop, electronic, and dance influences. Rather than sticking strictly to classic Irish folk, the group fuses traditional reels, polkas, and jigs with 90s pop and contemporary electronic beats to create a lively, dance-friendly sound that appeals to both traditional music fans and club-style audiences.
The band features musicians such as Peter Staunton on accordion and electronics and Niamh Varian-Barry (a former lead singer of the Irish group Solas) on fiddle, among others. Their performances are known for being high-energy, fun, and inclusive—bringing a fresh, modern twist to Ireland’s musical heritage while staying rooted in its traditional forms.
